Game of Thrones Makes Emmy History

At the 67th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held on 20th September, HBO’s series Game of Thrones pulled off a few historic feats.
The HBO series became the first program to win twelve Emmys in a single year, dethroning(pun obviously intended) the previous record holder, The West Wing with nine. Picking up awards for directing, writing, supporting actor, and drama series. These are in addition to the eight awards the series won at the Creative Arts Emmys, Held the week prior.
Game of Thrones is now also tied with Hillstreet Blues and the aforementioned The West Wing as the most honored series of all time. All three shows having picked twenty-six awards over their runs. The next season of Game of Thrones debuts next year and more the horizon, the showrunners aim for eight. It is reasonable to assume that will surpass Hillstreet Blues and The West Wing to be the sole holder of the most acclaimed series title.
These accolades are well deserved because Game of Thrones is arguably the best series currently on television and certainly one of the best series of all time.
